Lithuanian National Men‘s goalball team won gold medals in Paralympic games, held in Rio de Janeiro on 7-18 September 2016,  after winning all seven matches in the goalball tournament.

The golden team consisted of members of sports club „ŠALTINIS“: start players – team captain Genrik Pavliukianec, Justas Pažarauskas and Mantas Brazauskis, backups – Nerijus Montvydas, Mantas Panovas and Mindaugas Suchovėjus.

Members of Golden goalball team received awards from President Dalia Grybauskaitė  – Grand Crosses of Commander of the Order for Merits to Lithuania, head coach Karolis Levickis was awarded with Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas.

Government of the Republic of Lithuania appointed to the goalball team a cash prize of 208 thousand euros.
